replica Patek Philippe Watches Aquanaut Chronograph Ref. 5968A – The Brand’s Most Casual Chronograph Yet
Practical chronograph functionality goes hand in hand with sporty watches. So it’s perhaps not surprising, but rather expected, that Patek Philippe’s sportiest collection should feature a chronograph sooner rather than later. First launched in 1997, the Aquanaut was billed as a sporty, stylish, and affordable version of the much-loved Nautilus. This year, the famous Genevan manufacturer finally released its first chronograph, the Aquanaut. Here, we bring you details and our thoughts on the new Patek Philippe Ref. 5968A. perfect replica Watches
With a stainless steel case measuring 42.2mm in diameter (measured from 10 to 4 o’clock), the Aquanaut Chronograph is neither delicate nor overbearing. Its 11.9mm thickness may be thicker than we’re used to seeing from Patek Philippe cases, but for a sporty automatic chronograph, that’s perfectly fine. Aside from the addition of two finely sculpted pushers with different finishes at 2 and 4 o’clock, the case design remains the same, retaining the watch’s signature porthole shape.
The brass dial of the Aquanaut Chronograph remains in embossed guilloché and sunburst finishes. Last year Patek Philippe launched two blue dial models to celebrate the collection’s 20th anniversary, but this year’s Aquanaut has reverted to a standard black dial. The most notable change on the dial of the new Aquanaut Chronograph is the addition of a chronograph minute counter, which has been carefully shaped to match the case/bezel for consistency. replica Jacob & Co. Beyond that, there are of course the signature orange accents throughout the dial, especially on the chronograph seconds hand and minute markers, as well as the lancet chronograph seconds and minutes hands. The use of orange is indeed quite unusual for a Patek Philippe timepiece, but you can bet that this design decision was made to appeal to a younger clientele. It may take a while to get used to, but ultimately we think it works well. The orange contrasts nicely against the black dial, improving legibility and injecting some youthfulness into Patek Philippe’s most casual timepiece.
Movement The Aquanaut Chronograph replica automatic watches is powered by the 308-part, 32-jewel Calibre CH 28-520 C. The self-winding movement has a 55-hour power reserve (with the chronograph switched off) and runs at the modern 4 Hz frequency. Remarkably, this is the exact same movement used in the Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph Ref. 5980 – and that’s OK. If you already own a couple of great chronograph movements, such as the Ref. 5980 or Ref. 5170, there’s little point in designing and building a brand new chronograph movement for an “entry-level” watch.
The Calibre CH 28-520 C is a column-wheel/vertical clutch chronograph movement with flyback function. Thanks to the virtually frictionless clutch, the central chronograph hand can also be used as a continuously running seconds hand without causing additional wear. While not a perfect replacement, it does eliminate the need for a seconds subdial, allowing for a cleaner, more legible dial. Needless to say, the movement is beautifully finished, living up to the standards of the prestigious Patek Philippe Seal. The case back shows the circular Côtes de Genève on the bridges and the 21k gold central rotor, polished bevels, mirror-polished screw heads, and perlage on the mainplate. replica Breitling CHRONOMAT B01 NFL
There’s nothing groundbreaking about the new Aquanaut Chronograph, but that doesn’t mean it’s a lackluster offering. The Ref. 5968A is exactly what the Aquanaut line needed, and it’s long overdue. Despite (or because of?) the watch’s atypically bold decoration, initial reactions to it have been generally positive. replica Audemars Piguet CODE 11.59
